Uplink Number vs. Real Number
Have you ever wished you had a way for your team to better connect with your customers, clients, and leads? Well, Uplink might just be the answer.
Uplink is a one-to-one messaging tool that allows your sales team meet your clients where they live: on their mobile devices. On both sides of the conversations, members of your team and your clients can exchange messages or phone calls using the native messaging apps on their phones.
Although we’ve designed the platform to be user-friendly, there are certain concepts and terminology you should know to take full advantage of everything Uplink has to offer. Among those terms, you may notice our resources and guides make reference of “Uplink Numbers” and “Real Numbers.” But what’s the difference?
What’s the Difference Between a Real Number and an Uplink Number?
In Uplink, a Real Number is an Uplink User’s actual phone number. It’s the number the User’s family and friends use to communicate with him or her. Without Uplink, Users would be forced to share their Real Numbers with to communicate, which would compromise their privacy.
Uplink maintains the convenience of one-to-one messaging between your clients and team members while also maintaining your team’s privacy by assigning each User his or her own Uplink Number.
Instead of giving out Real Numbers, you can provide Uplink Numbers. Uplink relays all the SMS and MMS messages — and even phone calls — to/from Users’ Real Numbers through their individual Uplink Numbers.
It’s brilliant in its simplicity. Like a wormhole, Uplink just works. There’s no fuss. Plus, the Uplink web app gives you a user-friendly interface to set this technological symphony in motion. In turn, your team can better convert leads and build more lasting relationships with customers.
